What does the NTMP do?
The intent of the program is to use the three E's--Education, Enforcement, and Engineering--to solve problems in the most timely and least expensive manner possible. This approach ensures that every dollar devoted to traffic management has been carefully spent. At each step in the NTMP process, the City evaluates the progress of the methods used in order to determine if further action is required. The program is cumulative. This means that education and enforcement must be conducted before engineering options (the most expensive solution) will be considered.
For more information about the City's policies and priorities for neighborhood traffic management, view the Neighborhood Traffic Management Element.
If you have questions about the NTMP or wish to report a traffic concern, please contact the City's Engineering Department at 503-786-7606 or .
