Provide quality-engineering services to ensure that all city utilities,
including wastewater collection, water, streets and storm water infrastructure
are efficiently managed at lowest cost to ratepayers and serve the long-term
needs of the community.
GOALS
The Engineering Department acts as the steward of the public right of way by
ensuring that all improvements in the right of way are built and maintained to
city standards and meets all municipal code requirements. Goals of the
department include the following:
- Maintain and/or upgrading the city's public infrastructure by replacing
outdated and failing utility system components.
- Provide new system capacity where needed.
- Keep the Citizen Utility Advisory Board (CUAB) apprised of all utility
related issues and forward all Board recommendations to the City Council as
appropriate.
