The Island Station Neighborhood District Association (NDA) is an officially

A few of the most recent programs and events in the Island Station
Neighborhood primarily funded by Milwaukie's Neighborhood Matching Grant
Program
include:
National Night Out Celebration - Island Station sponsors an annual
Neighbors Night Out celebration to increase crime prevention awareness and
unify the neighborhood residents.
Protection and enhancement of Spring Park and Elk Rock Island -
Neighborhood residents have taken a renewed interest in habitat restoration
on Elk Rock Island and developing Spring Park into a pocket park for the
neighborhood and its children including play equipment and benches.
Maintaining common areas and helping needy folks with lawn maintenance
- The neighborhood purchased a riding lawnmower with city grant funding
several years ago and continues to utilize the mower to maintain common
areas and help needy residents maintain their yards.
Island Station is also working to reduce crime and vandalism in the
neighborhood and the parks through enhanced awareness and dialogue between
neighbors, the Police Department, and Code Enforcement. Furthermore the
neighborhood has initiated volunteer foot patrols on Elk Rock and
Island and Spring Park and has a representative on the city's Public
Safety Advisory Committee.
