What is a Neighborhood District Association (NDA)?
A Neighborhood District Association (NDA) links the neighborhood together to
create a vibrant local democracy and a stronger community.
Every person who lives in the City of Milwaukie belongs to one of the seven
NDAs. They are powerful resources for all of us. They are the officially
recognized voice of the neighborhood and the basic building blocks of democracy
in Milwaukie.
Your Neighborhood District Association:
Advocates for Community: Represents neighborhood interests to local
government, participates on policy committees, develops grassroots
campaigns, and advocates for community priorities.
Communicates Activities and Ideas: Organizes forums and writes and
distributes neighborhood newsletters.
Organizes Community Events: Plans block parties, festivals,
neighborhood clean-ups, tree planting, fundraisers and other community
projects and events. NDAs also determine how neighborhood grant money is
distributed and which neighborhood-enhancing projects are funded.
You Can Make a Difference!
Attend your NDA meetings: Anyone that lives, works, or owns property in
Milwaukie can attend NDA meetings. Become an important part of discussions
involving community and city affairs.
Participate on a Committee: Organize events and activities.
Become an Officer: Make decisions and prioritize neighborhood plans.
