Story Board

Law enforcement officers are the first responders to many emergency situations. In their interactions with the public, officers often experience the best, the worst, and the weirdest human nature has to offer. Readers will find a new story posted monthly in “Story Board”.

Compiled by the men and women of the Milwaukie Police Department, the following true stories are examples of the wide array of police calls they have encountered. Many police calls for service make for surprising and entertaining stories.

The stories you are about to read are true. Names and specific locations have been omitted to protect the innocent and, well, also to protect the reputation of those that seem to be behind the learning curve.

Although police officers are trained to react to situations in a stoic, professional manner, you may find many also have a terrific sense of humor.
