Construction on Jackson Street is Ready to Begin -
Parking and Traffic in Downtown Will Be Affected!

The full reconstruction of the street and streetscape on Jackson Street, between Main Street and 21st Avenue, will begin in the latter part of May. This project will consolidate the TriMet bus shelters to Jackson Street and improve the look, feel and functioning of transit service in downtown Milwaukie. Construction is expected to last at least 5 months.

During construction, the following parking and traffic changes will impact the Downtown area:

  • The project will temporarily remove five on-street parking spaces on 21st Avenue between Harrison Street and Jackson Street due to the placement of a temporary bus stop at the southeast corner of the Harrison Street and 21st Avenue intersection.

  • One on-street parking stall will be removed on Harrison at the southwest corner of Harrison Street and 21st Avenue due to the placement of a temporary bus stop at this location.

  • Another temporary bus stop will be located approximately mid-block on the north side of Harrison between Main Street and 21st Avenue.

Bus traffic will be rerouted to these temporary stations causing Harrison Street to be used more frequently Monday through Friday for bus stops and general movement through downtown.
