Neighborhood Food Fight to Benefit Milwaukie High School Food Drive

On Saturday and Sunday December 13th and 14th, from 9am-6pm, Milwaukie's seven neighborhood associations (NDAs) will have a friendly competition to see which neighborhood can collect the most cans and cash donations to benefit the Milwaukie High School food drive. The NDAs will host tables at Safeway and Albertsons to collect canned food.

Milwaukie's NDAs challenge residents of each neighborhood to swing by those two days and donate food or money towards the cause. Checks can be written to Milwaukie High School with "canned food drive" in the memo line. Each neighborhood will have its own barrel or box and will count the contributions to determine which NDA has contributed the most cans.

Milwaukie High School students have astounded school staff and the local community by their amazing dedication to the food drive which benefits the Oregon Food Bank. Last year students collected 130,000 cans of food--making Milwaukie High School the sixth largest donor to the Oregon Food Bank in the entire state! This project has become a source of great pride and cooperation within the school. Their goal this year is to collect 150,000 cans of food. We hope you will join the Neighborhood Food Fight and donate to the food drive effort! For more information contact Linda Hedges at (503) 343-0022 or Ron Moseley at (503) 353-5830.
