Milwaukie's Street Surface Maintenance Program Takes Effect in July

In July residents will see a new line item on their utility bills and a slight increase in their electricity bills to fund the City’s newly created Street Surface Maintenance Program. 

Single-family homes, which includes condos or row houses, will be charged $3.35 per month on their utility bills under the line item “STREET SURFACE MAINTENANCE FEE.” Apartment buildings will be billed $2.10 per month per unit. 

A 1.5% “Privilege Tax” will begin being assessed on July PGE statements. The average electric bill in Milwaukie is $70. This new tax will raise this average bill by $1.
