Harmony Road Visioning Process Underway, Survey Posted Online

With three major projects being planned for the 82nd Avenue - Harmony Road Corridor, the partners behind the projects are looking to gather citizen input to better ensure all interests are represented so future efforts are better coordinated.

A second public meeting will be held Wednesday, Sept. 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Oregon Institute of Technology Gymnasium (7726 Se harmony Road, Milwaukie).

The three projects include:

Clackamas Community College Harmony Campus Phase 1
Phase One, a 45,000-square-foot building, will give a new home to the college’s growing Health Sciences Division. It will be a primary source for health care organizations to access degree programs, professional upgrades, customized training, research and lifelong learning. The ground floor will house CCC student services, community education and a college bookstore. Development of this building responds to a shortage in trained healthcare employees for this important economic sector.

North Clackamas Parks & Recreation Park and Fitness Center
In response to the recommendation of the Aquatic Park Task Force, a competitive process has resulted in a public/private partnership to add a fitness facility to the North Clackamas Aquatic Park. Park planning for the adjacent Three Creeks area is just beginning and should result in improvements for people of all ages.

Clackamas County Harmony Road Project
Design and alignment alternatives are being evaluated for the Harmony Road corridor. Alternatives for Harmony Road, Sunnybrook Boulevard extension and the Harmony Road/Linwood Avenue/Railroad Avenue intersection are part of the study to reduce congestion and improve safety; minimize neighborhood and environmental impacts; and improve multi-modal access from area neighborhoods and the City of Milwaukie to the Clackamas Regional Center.

Interested parties can review all project information at http://www.harmonyvision.org , where an online survey is posted to gather opinions.
