Understanding Traffic Studies Tuesday, October 24th 6:30pm at City Hall:

DKS Associates, the City's Traffic Engineering consultant, will present a training on "Understanding Traffic Studies" to the Planning Commission during their meeting at City Hall on October 24, 2006 at 6:30pm. 

The presentation will focus on 3 things: 1) some basics of traffic engineering (how to understand the common terms like "Level of Service" and the difference between Local and Collector streets), 2) what traffic engineers consider when evaluating the impacts of a new development on a neighborhood, and 3) what Planning Commissioners (and others) should look at when they are presented with dueling traffic studies for a proposed development. 

The training is intended to increase Commissioners' general understanding of traffic impacts evaluation, and will not focus on any particular project or site. The training is open to the public.
