Citizen Committee to Begin Looking at Design Issues for Town Center (Texaco)
Development
![]()
The nine-member citizen committee appointed by Milwaukie and Metro to develop design guidelines for the development proposed for the old Texaco/City Hall Parking Lot will meet for the third time on Wednesday, Nov. 15th from 4 to 6 p.m. in Public Safety Building, 3200 SE Harrison Street.
The primary focus of the meeting will be to begin developing the design criteria that will be included in the Request For Proposals (RFP) - the formal document developers will respond to when submitting their proposals. The RFP encompasses things like building height, preferred construction materials and design elements, and the kinds of commercial uses preferred for the site.
The RFP will be released in late November and an Open House will be held in January to give the public an opportunity to review the developers’ proposals. A joint Metro-Council work session is scheduled for Nov. 21st at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall to talk about the value of the project for both the City and the region.
All the meetings are open to the public and time is provided for audience participation.
