42nd Avenue and King Road Intersection Reconfigured

Beginning Thursday, March 30th, the intersection of King Road and 42nd Avenue will become a 1-way STOP controlled intersection. Also, King Road will change from two lanes to one lane at this intersection.
The intersection was formerly a 3-way stop but the change was implemented in order to phase in the new signal at King Road and 43rdAvenue. This signal will help handle the increase in traffic the soon to be constructed Safeway grocery store will introduce.
Construction permits for the grocery store at the King Road and 42nd Avenue site have been issued and construction is expected to begin within the month.
Public Works crewmembers will post "TRAFFIC REVISION AHEAD" signs at all legs of this intersection and bags will be placed over the STOP signs for a week to make drivers aware of the change. View Plan
