Milwaukie’s Riverfront Park is about 7 acres of undeveloped riverside property nestled between the Willamette River to the west, Kellogg Creek to the south, Johnson Creek to the north by McLoughlin Boulevard to the west. The City adopted the Downtown and Riverfront Plan into the Comprehensive Plan in 1995. A final design plan for the Riverfront Park was begun at that time but, unfortunately, inadequate funding has prevented its completion. The design for the Riverfront Park consists of a path that channels pedestrians from the street level sidewalk down toward the River in to an open green area spotted with benches and landscaped picnic lawns. It is estimated that the City needs $25,000 to complete the final design and obtain land use approval for the Riverfront Park. Once fully designed, the City will need $300,000 to construct the park. Donations Celebrate Milwaukie Inc. (CMI), a 501 C3 non-profit organization with a Board of Directors made up of Milwaukie Residents and Business owners has taken on fundraising responsibility for our City Riverfront Park. If you are interested in helping realize the goal of a vibrant Riverfront you can make a tax-deductible donation to Celebrate Milwaukie Inc.
