Main Street Milwaukie

The City of Milwaukie is assisting downtown businesses, property owners, and interested residents to initiate a “Main Street” program (with help from the Clackamas County Main Street Program and the State of Oregon).

With support from Clackamas County, Marketek, Inc., has prepared a market analysis of downtown Milwaukie, incorporating responses from shoppers and downtown businesses. The report can be downloaded here.

The Main Street approach was developed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Main Street groups organize their work around four areas, or “committees.”

Organization Committee (meets once or twice a month, usually at Cha Cha Cha).
The Organization Committee is currently developing a work plan, focused in five areas:

  • Organizational structure/by-laws

  • Volunteer recruitment/retention

  • Financial planning

  • Organizational policies/procedures

  • Communications
