The Human Resources department promotes the equitable and consistent
interpretation
and application of personnel policies, procedures, and systems throughout the
City and
ensures the City is legally compliant in respect to personnel issues. Human
Resources
provides services and support for the management of personnel in all areas of
City
operations by serving as an internal consultant to the City for all human
resource
functions including:
Employee recruitment and selection;
Management of employee and labor relations;
Legal compliance of the City in respect to personnel issues;
Maintenance and management of the employee personnel records;
Management of the performance evaluation process;
Benefits administration;
Interpretation of personnel policies;
Guidance to department heads and supervisors relating to the management
of employee performance and discipline procedures;
Management of the employee classification and compensation systems;
Assistance with organizational development and training;
Workers’ compensation claim processing
Safety Program
The department consists of an HR Director and HR Assistant.
They work together to
provide the full range of Human Resource services to the City that are listed
above.
