The Milwaukie Daze Parade and Festival has been one most valued Milwaukie traditions since 1972. The City’s annual festival has been called many things throughout the years, including "Milwaukie Daze", "Centennial Days" and "Riverfest".

The 2008 Milwaukie Daze was a great hometown event! There were many volunteers and participants for the various events, but a number of them really stood out for going above and beyond. Special thanks go to the following people: Val Hubbard, Alicia Hamilton, and Tamara Huber for organizing the parade; Jim Bernard and Celebrate Milwaukie, Inc. for the group’s ongoing support; Bob Hatz for honoring the community as the Grand Marshall; and to Greg Chaimov for announcing the event. The Life Christian Center provided 84 volunteers the day of the event! As in years past, Ed Zumwalt was the music and fireworks show guru, and Raevon, Jodie, and Brea Day did a great job organizing the field day events on the Waldorf School grounds. Tom Hogan took the lead in organizing the First Annual Poetry Picnic at the Scott Park Amphitheater. Beth Ragel from the community services department did a great job of organizing the daylong event on the City side, and Milwaukie police department personnel were on hand throughout the day to help in any way they could. Thanks everyone!!! We all look forward to another great community event in 2009.

Here are some photos from the 2008 Parade!
